Logistics hub in the biological production environment
Boxmeer is one of Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health’s logistics hubs. A large part of the products that Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health sells pass through Boxmeer. If you consider that Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health puts on the market billions of doses of vaccines and pharmaceutical products every year and has sales offices in more than fifty countries, it is easy to see why the working environment is so challenging. Operating in a pharmaceutical production environment gives the work an added dimension. Our purchasers, for instance, must take into account that they are working in a strictly regulated industry and have to adhere to the stringent quality requirements that apply throughout the pharmaceutical industry, also for base materials and equipment.
Global Supply Chain Management
Boxmeer is not only one of Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health’s operational logistics hubs, it is also where the global supply chain activities are controlled and coordinated. That includes the scheduling of production activities for all our production facilities for the medium and long terms, as well as the optimal design and organization of the entire chain. In addition, we coordinate the logistics aspects of product life cycle management, from preparation for introduction up to and including phasing out. Demand management, order management and coordination of printed packaging materials also fall within our remit.
Passionate and creative
The logistics office jobs at Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health are filled by passionate and creative professionals who are always looking for the best way to supply our products to our clients on time. Direct contact with national and international suppliers is an important part of the purchasers’ work. Our local and international planners maintain close contacts with the Production departments here and abroad, as well as with the Marketing & Sales and Registration departments.
The people who work in the warehouses and in dispatch understand the importance of working methodically, safely and hygienically. It is no coincidence that, in 2007, our warehouses were successful at the ‘Safest Warehouse in the Netherlands’ awards.
Global Supply Chain Management is staffed by a mix of conceptual thinkers and people with a hands-on mentality. We offer challenging work in a complex, international production environment, in which regular traveling or a period of work abroad could be part of a versatile career.
Space for education and development
A great deal of attention is paid to the education of personnel in the logistics departments within Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health. Whether it is the APICS training for planners, a vocational education course as Warehouse Supervisors or fork-lift and high-rise lift truck certificates, we offer our personnel an abundance of opportunities for further development.
