Marketing & Sales
Global Marketing operates from Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health’s international headquarters in Boxmeer. The department is responsible for the strategic direction of the organization, in the short and long term. International Marketing advises the management and plays a guiding role for Research & Development, Manufacturing and the Country Operations, with operational support from Area Management. In addition, the department develops all the international product campaigns, carried out in close collaboration with advertising and PR agencies. International Marketing also takes care of the international technical support for our products.
The work within Global Marketing is dynamic and multifaceted. The compilation and maintenance of a large network is very important. The department is internationally structured and consists of various species teams (poultry, pigs, cattle and companion animals). Each team has product managers and technical managers, and the organizational structure is flat, so that people from various disciplines are easily approachable.
Marketing and business administration specialists work in the teams alongside people with technical/veterinary agricultural backgrounds. Well-developed communication skills are essential for you to be able to do your work properly. Personal initiative is valued and rewarded. The international character of the work demands and open and flexible attitude and a willingness to travel regularly. Thinking creatively and 'out-of-the-box' makes all the difference.
Area Management is responsible for the sales and profit results in the different Areas (geographic sales regions). Area Management monitors profitability and appraises how the business can best develop, as well as being the intermediary between the local Marketing & Sales organizations and departments such as International Marketing, Supply Chain Management and Finance.
The work is characterized by a wide range of responsibilities, room for personal initiative, multiple international contacts and cooperation with people from very different disciplines (veterinary, manufacturing, marketing, logistics).
People working within Area Management are communicative and independent, with an economic or business management background, commercial talent and the ambition to have an international career.
Intervet Netherlands is Intervet/Schering-Plough’s sales office in the Netherlands. Approximately forty people are engaged in the sale of veterinary medicines and vaccines. The sales activities are arranged into animal types: poultry, cattle, pigs and companion animals. Every group has a product manager (veterinary or commercially educated), one or more technical managers (veterinarians) and area managers (veterinary medical representatives).
They are supported by the Registration, Customer Service and Controlling departments.
Intervet Netherlands takes care of the sales, distribution and support of Intervet/Schering-Plough's products in the Netherlands and endeavors to provide the best service and advice for the products. In this way, Intervet Netherlands offers the client a specialized package tailored to their needs.
