Quality at Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health
Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health is the largest vaccine manufacturer in the world and ranks globally among the top three veterinary pharmaceutical companies. Our production facilities supply billions of doses of animal medicines every year. It goes without saying that all our products, production units and equipment satisfy the most stringent quality requirements. We are obligated to our clients, the government and ourselves to make sure that this is the case. For this reason, we have a number of departments in Boxmeer that are solely focused on quality: Quality Control (testing of base materials, seed stock, semi-manufactured products and end products, spatial and water monitoring, etc.), Quality Management (all release activities and management of seed stock) and Quality Assurance (GMP systems, Good Manufacturing Practices). The Quality Control and release of the majority of our vaccines takes place in Boxmeer.
Varied range of responsibilities
The different Quality departments in Boxmeer have an extremely varied range of responsibilities:
Validating and implementing tests
An important part of the work carried out in the Quality departments consists of the validation and implementation of the various microbiological, immunological and analytical-chemical tests that are used to test the safety, quality and efficacy of our vaccines. We are regularly on the lookout for personnel with higher or senior secondary laboratory technician training for these departments.
Compliance
Quality naturally also involves compliance – we want to and need to satisfy every regulation and quality requirement in the area of veterinary pharmaceutics. To this end, we are regularly looking for people who are familiar with the regulations that govern the pharmaceutical production environment. People to whom working according to GMP comes natural and who have a critical look where necessary and an attentive ear where possible.
Space for innovative capacity
We also go beyond compliance and the performance of tests. Within our Quality departments, we are happy to create space for people who are innovative enough to contribute to the development and improvement of immunological, bacteriological and virological testing within regulatory confines.
A quality job?
Within our Q-departments, we are regularly on the lookout for professionals who can combine expertise with creativity. People who can utilize their innovative skills to further improve the Q-departments within regulatory confines. We look for postdoctoral researchers and people with university degrees (veterinary medicine, biology, immunology) or with higher or senior secondary laboratory technician training specializing in microbiology (bacteriology/virology).
