Despite a challenging environment, we achieved sales of approximately USD 3 billion in 2008, equivalent to a 15.5 percent share of the global market, worth more than USD 19 billion (Vetnosis, April 2009).

By region, product segment and species – Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health is well positioned as a leading player in global animal health.

We hold leading market positions in Europe, Latin America and the Far East –key regions which together account for virtually two-thirds of our animal health product sales – and have excellent opportunities for growth in North America.

We are the world leader in veterinary vaccines as well as in vaccine marker technology and fertility management.

In addition to being the leader in animal health solutions for cattle, sheep, poultry, swine and aquatic animals, we also have strong potential for growth in companion animals.

In our broad species portfolios, many products complement each other. This allows us to provide excellent service and comprehensive health solutions to our customers.

We provide outstanding veterinary services and develop innovative drug delivery technology. Two recent examples are IDAL, our needle less vaccination application, and SPHEREON technology for manufacturing of freeze-dried vaccines.

By creating greater balance and diversity in our business segments and product portfolio, the transformed business has enabled us to obtain a leadership position as a world class provider of animal health solutions. Customers benefit even more as we are now able to provide an enhanced range of services. The greater strength and depth also establishes a solid platform on which to build for future growth.
