Today’s Intervet India is the largest MNC in India dedicated to Animal Health. Intervet India is the result of autonomous growth and subsequent mergers of well-known and leading companies like Hoechst Roussel Vet, Intercare and BAIF’s Animal Health Division.

  • Hoechst established its Animal Health operation in 1969 with specialized Pharmaceutical Products and FMD vaccines in Mumbai.
  • BAIF established the Animal Health Division in Wagholi, Pune in 1978, with a factory for FMD vaccines and also for other vaccines and pharmaceuticals.
  • Since 1980’s, Intervet’s products (Fertility hormones and Canine products) were available for the Indian market through Infar/ Intercare India in Calcutta.
  • Hoechst’s HRVet is formed as a dedicated Animal Health business unit, in 1996, and in the same year acquired the BAIF Animal Health Division based in Pune.
  • Intervet India Pvt. Ltd. established in 1997 in Hyderabad with Poultry Vaccines, Canine Products and Fertility Hormones.
  • In 1999, the International merger between HRVet and Intervet International resulted in the merger between HRVet India and Intervet India in the year 2000.
  • Shifting of the Corporate Office to Pune in 2004 and extension of the production and supporting operations for the biological segments.
