From strength to strength
Our portfolio is strengthened and updated constantly as the seeds of our investment in research and development bear fruit. Innovative new products and additions to existing lines are launched on a regular basis. Alongside established core brands, these will fuel continued expansion of our portfolio in all of the main species segments providing comprehensive solutions for our customers.
Swine
Our CIRCUMVENT PCV2 product, which was the first porcine circovirus-2 vaccine to receive a license from U.S.A. regulators, was granted full approval there in December 2007. The inactivated, vector vaccine has demonstrated significant benefits in terms of reduced mortality and improved performance in treated herds, and is being used by a growing number of producers.
RESPIG, a dedicated website for veterinarians, farmers and other specialists in the swine health business, has been added to the range of tools offered to veterinarians and producers. The tool contains detailed information on porcine respiratory disease complex (PRDC), vaccines available for the prevention and control of respiratory infections, and other aids designed to help reduce economic losses caused by PRDC.
Poultry
We continue to add new and improved products to a poultry vaccine portfolio that is already among the most comprehensive in the industry. Recent additions to the range include INNOVAX LT, the first recombinant vaccine for the control of infectious laryngotracheitis in chickens, and INNOVAX ND-SB – a recombinant Newcastle disease/Marek's disease vaccine. The vaccine provides extended protection against Newcastle Disease, without the inconvenience of respiratory reactions. NETVAX, the first vaccine approved for prevention of enteritis in poultry is just entering the markets.
Ruminants
NUFLOR GOLD, an injectable treatment for bovine respiratory disease (BRD), is the latest addition to our growing florfenicol franchise. Florfenicol's rapid onset of action, broad spectrum and duration of activity have already made it a leader where BRD treatment is concerned. NUFLOR GOLD is administered via the subcutaneous route, Our cattle portfolio has also been boosted by the introduction of a long-acting cefquinome product, COBACTAN LA 7.5%, and MASTIPLAN LC, a new, fast-acting mastitis treatment containing cefapirin and prednisolone.
Ruminant farmers in Europe now have access to our new bluetongue vaccine, BOVILIS BTV8, which is being made available through government-backed vaccination campaigns in the region. Beef farmers in the U.S.A., meanwhile, can reap major productivity benefits offered by additions to our portfolio there. REVALOR X (trenbolone and estradiol) is a new-generation implant offering enhanced levels of flexibility for feedlot producers, which features an innovative coating technology. Our novel feed supplement, ZILMAX (zilpaterol), offers substantial production efficiencies during the final phase of the finishing period.
Dogs and cats
Recent additions to our small animal range offer both increased levels of protection against viral or bacterial infections and more convenient, less stressful application methods that will encourage compliance with recommended dosing regimes.
Our CONTINUUM/NOBIVAC vaccines with effective protection for up to three years offer veterinarians and pet owners more flexibility in vaccinations. Our new canine hypothyroidism treatment, LEVENTA (levothyroxine), can be administered using an oral dosing syringe or via the food of treated animals. We have also secured U.S. regulatory approval for our diabetes mellitus product, VETSULIN for cats in addition to the inidcations for dogs. VASOTOP (ramipril) for the treatment of canine heart failure is now with its new palatable formula, easier to administer and make VASOTOP P the concordance leader.
Horses
