Introducing Intervet Productions S.R.L.

In November 2004, Italy’s Gellini was officially renamed “Intervet Productions S.r.l.” The new corporate name was inaugurated in a ceremony at the Aprilia plant.

The ceremony was an important event for the 130 Intervet Productions employees. The company has now become a benchmark for local industry. 

Since acquiring Farmaceutici Gellini, in 1999, Intervet has initiated a continuous upgrading process which has resulted in improvements in all areas.

Established in 1958, the former Gellini plant in Via Nettunense developed from a small pharmacy nucleus into a key Italian player. However, from the outset, management had always focused on the veterinary industry.

Intervet’s subsequent investments were accompanied by an export initiative to market the products in many new countries. Before the acquisition, most of the company’s turnover was generated in Italy. With Intervet’s investments, Italy represents more than half of the client base, followed by other European countries, Latin America and Africa. 

The main internal developments have included improved Health, Safety and Environmental Protection and Good Manufacturing Practices status, as well as cost optimization and the creation of a stimulating work place for employees.
